Description
The National Building Museum in northwest Washington DC was built in the 1880's for the Pension Bureau. The Great Hall is 316 by 116 feet, and 159 feet high. The hall features eight massive Corinthian columns, made of brick with plaster surfaces painted to resemble marble. The hall has been used for major events such as Presidential balls ever since it was built.
