Description
Sideling Hill, west of Hancock, Maryland, has a 340-foot deep cut to accommodate interstate route I-68. The cut created an excellent exposure of a geological syncline formation, and the Sideling Hill Exhibit Center explains the significance of the 810 feet of tightly folded strata. The cut was made in the early 1980's.
